First-Year Writing Social/Digital Media Policy

The First-Year Writing Program's policy on social and digital media in First-Year Writing classes is designed to provide guidelines and best practices for instructors who plan on using social and digital media as an instructional component in Rowan University’s First-Year Writing courses. While online writing spaces provide opportunities to play with genre, purpose, and audience, it remains necessary to be mindful of FERPA (the federal law that protects, among other things, a student's educational records and grade information.)
